Our purpose:
We provide the essential services that our families, friends and neighbours need to live well.
In June 2020, the leadership of the Infrastructure Branch took part in a Strategic Planning Session. Here are the results.
“There is strength in doing the best job for the public. Infrastructure is the backbone of the community.”
Our Forecast for the Future
by the Summer of 2023
In June 2023, our infrastructure is safe, well-managed and meeting the needs of our community. We are building 20 new homes and renovating 10 homes each year.
All our signage is in Cree and English. We are incorporating Cree culture in our planning and development.
The community knows they can count on us to get things done in the right order and that we are fully capable to meet the needs of the community in a timely manner.
We are seen as the backbone of our community, dependable and hardworking service providers and problem solvers. The community knows what to reasonably expect from us.
In the infrastructure Branch, we have the right number of the right people in the right places. We have clear priorities that we can focus on.
We are safety focussed, well trained and certified. We are team players. We have regular all-staff meetings. We have clear communication and direction.
We show up to work and we get things done. We keep a positive attitude and we are having fun. We know when and how to say no and we have the authority to do so. We report back on what’s been done. We have the equipment we need to do our jobs.
As the leadership team, we communicate clearly. We set reasonable expectations and timeframes for the community and our staff. We provide everyone in infrastructure with clear and effective responsibilities. We find and hire the right people. We set budgets. We work to keep our internal culture well.
